Local SEO: So your customers find you, not your competitors.

Local visibility in the Google Local Pack, on Google Maps, and for regional search queries. Data-driven, with no ranking guarantees. Dennis himself.

When someone in your city searches for your service, Google decides in seconds who to show. It’s not the biggest company that wins, but the one with the strongest local signals. Local SEO ensures that you appear in the Local Pack, on Google Maps, and in organic search results—right when a potential customer near you is looking for your solution.

We optimize your local visibility using data: with real Google data, not gut feelings. As a company based in Baienfurt near Ravensburg, we know from our own experience how local SEO works. We do for ourselves what we do for our clients—and can show you what works.

What is local SEO?

Local SEO (also known as “local search engine optimization” or “regional search engine optimization”) is the targeted optimization of your online presence for local search queries. When someone types in “tax advisor Ravensburg” or “dentist near me,” Google returns three types of results: the Local Pack (a map box with three listings), Google Maps, and traditional organic search results.

All three follow different ranking factors, but they have one thing in common: Google evaluates how relevant, close, and well-known your business is. Those who strategically strengthen these three factors gain local visibility. Those who ignore them leave the field open to the competition.

The difference from traditional SEO: In local SEO, your Google Business Profile, local mentions on industry portals, and customer reviews play a central role. Without these signals, you can do everything right technically and in terms of content—and still not appear in the Local Pack.

Google Business Profile: Your Most Important Local Asset

Your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is the foundation of any local SEO strategy. It determines how your business appears on Google Maps and in the Local Pack: business name, address, hours, photos, reviews, and posts.

Important: Google renamed Google My Business to “Google Business Profile” in 2022. The features are the same; the only difference is that management now takes place directly through Google Search and Google Maps.

What we check and implement during optimization:

  • Completeness: Every field filled out — categories, services, attributes, description
  • Categories: The right primary category determines which search queries you appear for. We analyze competition and differentiation
  • Photos and posts: Active profiles with regular updates signal relevance to Google. Real photos instead of stock images
  • Review management: Reviews are a direct ranking factor. Systematic process for authentic reviews + professional responses
  • Google Maps SEO: Geo-coordinates, accurate address data, consistent business hours, service radius

Four levers

Improving Local Rankings — The Four Key Strategies

Local SEO optimization goes beyond the Google Business Profile. Four factors determine whether you’re visible locally or not.

01

NAP consistency

NAP = Name, Address, Phone. Your company name, address, and phone number must be consistent across all platforms—including your website, Google Business Profile, industry portals, and directories. Even minor discrepancies (e.g., “Str.” vs. “Straße”) can confuse Google.

02

Local Citations

Mentions of your business on external platforms—business directories, chambers of commerce, local portals. Quality matters more than quantity: a listing with the Chamber of Commerce is more valuable than a hundred spam directories.

03

Reviews and Reputation

Google uses reviews as a trust signal: number, average rating, and response rate. We’re building a systematic process—no buying reviews, no fake ones. Genuine feedback from real customers.

04

Local Content

Content with a local focus boosts regional relevance. No keyword stuffing—just real value for people in your region: testimonials, case studies, and local topics.

Our Approach

Think locally, act based on data — four phases

We begin every local SEO optimization project with a thorough assessment. Dennis Hüttner personally oversees every project—there are no account managers involved. We work with actual GSC data, not estimated visibility metrics.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Local SEO

Nine questions our clients ask us regularly — answered directly.

How much does local SEO cost?

A one-time local SEO audit starts at €864 net (8 hours). Ongoing support via SEO packages starting at €864/month. Individual services: €108/hour. Costs depend on the initial situation and local competition—we’ll provide a realistic assessment during the initial consultation.

Is local SEO worth it even for businesses without walk-in customers?

Yes. Local SEO isn't just relevant for retail businesses. Service providers (tax advisors, tradespeople, agencies, doctors) also benefit from local visibility. Many B2B decisions start with a local search.

How long does it take for local SEO to take effect?

Changes to your Google Business Profile can become visible within a few days. Building citations, reviews, and local content typically takes 2–4 months to yield measurable improvements in search rankings. Claims of guaranteed results in two weeks are not credible.

What is the difference between Google Business Profile and Google My Business?

It's the same tool. Google renamed "Google My Business" to "Google Business Profile" in 2022. Management is now handled directly through Google Search and Google Maps, rather than through the old app.

How much does local SEO cost compared to Google Ads?

Local SEO is an investment in long-term visibility. Once established, a strong local profile generates a steady stream of leads without any click costs. Google Ads provides immediate visibility, but only as long as you keep paying. A combination of both is usually the most effective.

Do I need a separate Google Business Profile for each location?

Yes. Every physical location where customers are served is assigned its own profile. For businesses without a fixed customer address (e.g., mobile service providers), there is a "service area" option.

What exactly does local SEO mean?

Regional search engine optimization and local SEO mean the same thing: optimizing your visibility for location-based search queries. Focus on Google Business Profiles, NAP, citations, reviews, and regional content.

Can Google Maps SEO be optimized separately?

Google Maps SEO isn't a standalone service; it's part of local SEO efforts. Google Business Profile, NAP consistency, and reviews directly determine your visibility on Google Maps.

Do you also work as a local SEO agency for existing clients of other agencies?

Yes, as a white-label partner for agencies that don’t want to offer local SEO themselves. An NDA from day one—we’ll handle the work under your name.
