Ad Server

What is an ad server?

An ad server is the central software that manages, delivers, tracks, and reports on advertisements, usually through a publisher or advertiser account with defined campaigns, quotas, and targeting rules. Well-known systems include Google Ad Manager and the open-source project Revive. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we use ad servers when self-marketing makes sense, that is, for publishers with their own reach, not for traditional corporate websites.
