APP

What is APP?

APP is short for “application” and, in everyday use, usually refers to a mobile app for a smartphone or tablet. A distinction is made between native apps (developed directly for iOS or Android), hybrid apps (sharing a common code base via frameworks), and Progressive Web Apps (PWAs, which function like apps but run in a browser). At Waterproof Web Wizard, before starting any app project, we consider whether a mobile website or a PWA would be the more cost-effective and maintainable solution, a true app is only justified by features that cannot be implemented in a browser.
