Backup
What is a backup?
A backup is a systematic copy of data and systems that enables recovery following data loss, hardware failure, a cyberattack, or user error. The 3-2-1 rule is a proven best practice: three copies, on two different media, one of which is external. For CMS projects, file backups and database backups must be considered together, otherwise, the backup is incomplete. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we regularly test backups by restoring them. A backup that cannot be restored is not a backup.
