Brand Search / Navigational Queries

What are brand search and navigational queries?

Brand searches or navigational queries are search queries that specifically reference a brand, company, or domain, such as “waterproof web wizard,” “TYPO3 agency Ravensburg,” and “Shopware Berlin.” The user already knows where they want to go. These searches have the highest CTR and conversion rate of all query types and are a direct indicator of brand awareness. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we monitor brand search volume in Search Console as a leading indicator: if the number of brand searches grows, the pipeline usually grows as well. Conversely, without brand search, there is no sustainable source of leads.
