Breadcrumbs

What are breadcrumbs?

Breadcrumbs show users their path within the site hierarchy, typically at the top of the page, using separators such as "›". They provide easy navigation: one click takes you back to the parent level, with no nested menus. Search engines use breadcrumbs with Schema.org markup for structured rich results. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we use breadcrumbs on websites with complex navigation structures, on sites with flat structures, they’re unnecessary and tend to be confusing.
