Brute-force attack

Definition: An attack in which a program automatically tries thousands of passwords per second until it finds the correct one.

Everyday analogy: Like a burglar who carries a bunch of 10,000 keys and tries each one individually on the door lock.

How we use this: During a security audit, we check whether the login has brute-force protection, login limits, 2FA, or IP blocking after X failed attempts.
