Composer
What is Composer?
Composer is the de facto standard dependency manager for PHP. It installs, updates, and links PHP packages, including their dependencies, via a composer.json file. Since TYPO3 v11, Composer has been the recommended method for installation and updates; Legacy installations via symlink or ZIP are considered obsolete. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we migrate legacy systems to Composer before every major upgrade, this is not an optional extra, but a mandatory requirement for clean security updates and predictable upgrade paths.
