Consent Management Platform (CMP)

What is a consent management platform?

A Consent Management Platform (CMP) is software used to collect, manage, and document cookie consent in accordance with the GDPR and the TTDSG. It displays the consent banner to users, blocks non-essential scripts until consent is given, transmits signals to Consent Mode v2, and documents decisions in an audit-proof manner. Market leaders in 2026: Usercentrics, Cookiebot, Borlabs Cookie, OneTrust, CCM19. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we do not recommend in-house solutions, certified CMPs offer liability protection that manual banner solutions cannot provide.
