What is content modeling?

Content modeling is the structured breakdown of content into reusable types, fields, and relationships, in other words, the foundation of any serious CMS project. If you model content properly, you can use it in various contexts, expand it later, and process it automatically. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we start CMS projects with a content inventory and then define page types, content elements, tags, and relationships, we don’t begin development until the model is in place. A weak content model will come back to haunt you by the time of the first relaunch, if not sooner.
