What is cookie consent?

Cookie consent is a website visitor’s active consent to the use of non-essential cookies and similar technologies. The legal basis in Germany is the TTDSG and the GDPR: tracking, marketing, and third-party cookies may only be set after clear consent has been given. Consent is typically implemented via consent management platforms such as Usercentrics, Cookiebot, or Borlabs. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we make sure there are no “dark patterns” and no hidden opt-out options, just clear choices and clean technical blocking until consent is given.
