Core Web Vitals

What are Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals (CWV) are three performance metrics that Google uses to measure a page’s user experience: LCP (Largest Contentful Paint, loading time of the main content, target ≤ 2.5 s), INP (Interaction to Next Paint, response speed, target ≤ 200 ms), and CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift, layout stability, target ≤ 0.1). CWV are a direct ranking factor and part of the Page Experience signal. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we don’t launch CWV projects based on gut feeling, but rather on Search Console data: if more than 40 percent of the pages fall into the “Needs Improvement” category, a structured optimization project is worthwhile.
