Cross-Selling

What is cross-selling?

Cross-selling is the targeted offering of complementary products or services to existing customers, at checkout, in CRM-based follow-ups, or through customer service. A classic example: When someone buys a camera, they’re offered lenses and camera bags. Cross-selling is effective when it’s genuinely relevant and well-timed. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we use data-driven cross-selling: rules derived from shopping cart analytics, not from marketing intuition. Poorly placed cross-selling annoys customers and does more harm than good to the brand.
