CTR
What is CTR?
The CTR (click-through rate) is the ratio of clicks to impressions, expressed as a percentage. It shows how appealing a snippet, ad, or email is to the target audience. In Google Search Console, CTR is available by URL and query, making it the fastest way to optimize snippets. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we use CTR as a leading indicator: a low CTR despite a good ranking often indicates an inappropriate meta description or a lack of alignment with user intent.
