Headless CMS

What is a headless CMS?

A headless CMS is a content management system without a fixed front end: Content is managed centrally and delivered via an API (REST or GraphQL) to any output channel, website, mobile app, digital signage, online store, or IoT device. This clearly separates content creation from presentation. Well-known headless systems include Contentful, Storyblok, Strapi, and TYPO3 Headless. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we recommend a headless approach when multiple touchpoints truly require their own interfaces, for traditional websites, a hybrid or monolithic TYPO3 setup is usually more cost-effective and easier to maintain.
