IP Blocking

What is IP blocking?

IP blocking prevents specific IP addresses or IP ranges from accessing your website or service. This method is used to combat bot traffic, brute-force attacks, partial DDoS attacks, or known sources of malware, at the web server, CDN, or firewall level. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we combine IP blocking with rate limiting and geo-rules to ensure that attack attempts never even reach the application. Without regular maintenance of the block lists, the protective effect becomes an illusion.
