Definition: A technique that loads images, videos, or content only when the user scrolls close to them, not when the page is first loaded.

Everyday analogy: Like a restaurant that doesn’t serve all the dishes at once, but serves the appetizer first, then the main course, then dessert, depending on what you’re actually eating.

How we use it: In the PageSpeed audit, we check for lazy loading of images below the fold. This often reduces the initial data volume by 40 to 60 percent without compromising functionality.
