LCP (Largest Contentful Paint)

What is LCP?

LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) measures the time from when the page is loaded until the largest visible content appears in the viewport, usually a hero image, a large block of text, or a video thumbnail. Thresholds: good ≤ 2.5 s, needs improvement ≤ 4 s, poor above that. Typical optimization strategies include fast server responses, optimized image sizes (AVIF/WebP), reduced CSS render blocking, and prioritized loading of critical resources. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we check LCP in the CrUX report for each page type and prioritize pages with high traffic and poor scores, that’s where the greatest business impact lies.
