Mobile-First (Design)

Definition: A design approach in which the layout is first developed for smartphone screens and then scaled up for tablets and desktops.

Everyday analogy: Like an architect who first designs an apartment for the smallest, most cramped space, if that works, all the larger rooms are automatically comfortable.

How we use it: Over 60 percent of all web visits come from smartphones. That’s why every design we create starts with mobile, even if the end user views it on a desktop.
