Security Hardening

What is security hardening?

Security hardening is the systematic process of securing a system against attacks and misconfigurations, at the server, CMS, database, application, and network levels. Typical measures include: up-to-date patches, minimal necessary permissions, disabling unnecessary services, security headers (CSP, HSTS), WAF rules, brute-force protection, and monitoring. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we regularly check security hardening as part of our maintenance, a one-time hardening without ongoing review is merely a snapshot. Security is a process, not a one-time setup.
