Definition: The readable part of a URL after the domain, in the case of waterproof-web-wizard.de/glossar/slug-url-slug/ is glossar/slug-url-slug the slug.

Everyday analogy: Like the label on a house mailbox. It should clearly display the name, not “House 7, 2nd floor, right.”

How we use this: In our SEO audit, we check the slug structure. Descriptive slugs (/seo-audit/) rank better than cryptic ones (/index.php?id=42).
