SSL/TLS Certificate

Definition: A digital certificate that enables an encrypted connection between a browser and a server. It can be identified by the https:// padlock icon in the address bar.

Everyday analogy: Like a restaurant’s ID card, it proves that the restaurant is truly who it claims to be, and that the order wasn’t tampered with on its way from the table to the kitchen.

How we use it: With every website launch, we configure SSL/TLS plus HSTS. Without HTTPS, Chrome now actively warns users about the website.
