Vibe Coding

What is Vibe Coding?

Vibe Coding refers to a software development approach in which you describe what you need to an AI using natural language, and it writes the code. Andrej Karpathy coined the term in February 2025, and the Collins Dictionary named it the Word of the Year for 2025. This works for prototypes and internal tools. But it doesn’t work for corporate websites subject to GDPR obligations, security requirements, and SEO rankings: AI-generated code regularly contains security vulnerabilities, “hallucinated” libraries, and untested paths. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we use AI coding tools every day, every line of code undergoes review, testing, and security checks before it is deployed.
