Zero-Click Searches

What are zero-click searches?

Zero-click searches are search queries that are answered directly in the SERP, through AI overviews, featured snippets, knowledge panels, and weather, time, or calculator boxes. According to SparkToro studies, these will account for over 60 percent of all Google searches by 2026. Traffic is declining, but brand visibility is increasing. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we no longer view content purely in terms of clicks, but rather in terms of citability: Those who appear as sources in AI Overviews, Knowledge Panels, and snippets gain authority, even without direct traffic to the site.
