Phishing

Definition: A scam in which attackers pose as a bank, a shipping company, or a supervisor in order to steal passwords, login credentials, or money.

Everyday analogy: Like the phone call from a supposed grandchild who urgently needs money. It still works because the story sounds believable.

How we use this: As part of our security hardening efforts, we raise editors’ awareness of phishing emails, especially fake requests to log in to the CMS.
