Sales Funnel

What is a sales funnel?

The sales funnel is a model of the purchasing process, from initial contact to closing the deal, typically broken down into stages such as awareness, interest, consideration, decision, and action. The funnel narrows toward the bottom because some prospects drop off at each stage. In B2B 2026, traditional linear funnel models are losing their relevance, purchasing decisions follow a looping process, involve multiple stakeholders, and involve a great deal of anonymous preliminary research. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we use funnel models as a guide, not as a rigid template, what matters is the quality of the touchpoints, not the organizational chart.
