Conversion

What is conversion?

A conversion is the successful completion of a predefined user action on a website or app, typically a purchase, a contact request, a newsletter sign-up, or a download. A distinction is made between macro-conversions (primary goal, usually monetary) and micro-conversions (intermediate steps, e.g., watching a video or clicking on an FAQ). At Waterproof Web Wizard, we deliberately define conversions on a per-page basis: Not every homepage needs to result in a purchase; often, the right contact form in the right place is sufficient.
