What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in a visitor’s browser, for sessions, settings, shopping carts, authentication, or tracking. A distinction is made between first-party cookies (from the visited domain) and third-party cookies (from third-party providers such as ad networks). The third-party variety has been phased out gradually in all major browsers since 2024.
