Bounce Rate

What is a bounce rate?

The bounce rate is the percentage of sessions in which users leave your website after viewing only one page, without any interaction, click, or second page view. In GA4, the corresponding metric is called the “Engagement Rate.” A high bounce rate means you’re wasting your advertising budget on visitors who didn’t meet your relevance criteria. At Waterproof Web Wizard, we analyze bounce rates on a page-by-page basis and determine whether intent, content, or technical issues are the cause.
